Mind Over Money

"The economy is the issue voters are most concerned with."  - Piers Morgan. Not a brilliant man. In fact: the whole bloody world is most concerned with economy of one sort or another and CNN possesses no corner on the market of intelligence.

I read a lot of "spiritual" books, New Thought, Buddhism, stuff like Eckhart Tolle and the like. It has bothered me for some time that, to this day, I have never encountered a spiritual book that deals with the economy, with money, with this artificial proposition that everyone is so concerned with. Eckhart, for example, has produced considerable amounts of ink explaining to you that you need to dis-identify with the mind, to stop creating time, that time and the mind are one and that time and the mind are the sources of suffering. With this I agree. But why, oh why, has he given no space in his books to money? Perhaps he has conveniently left this space for me.

I will tell you: the one problem in the world is money. If money is the root of all evil, then we've all got evil by the roots and we are stuck at the base chakra, mired in the base impulses of human existence, chasing after money like grabbing onto our genitals to relieve us from this world of perceived suffering and psychological pain. Now is the opportunity to begin the climb out of our primitive dependency on base things and to step into our power by rising up the chakras of consciousness. Money, merely a tool to conduct trade and perceived cooperation, is most definitely the one false premise preventing the living of life, real, honest living [to be continued].
